Rennes discussing Traore move/Mensah switch?

Sky sports is 'reporting' that Rennes general manager Pierre Dreossi is in England discussing transfer talks for players coming and going from the French club...

The claims are the main point of the meetings are to tie up the permanent signing of Djimi Traore - who is currently on loan with Rennes - but the negotiations could include Traore being used as bait to help bring John Mensah to Pompey?

Mensah is being heavily 'linked' with Pompey so this seems to have some basis really, so maybe we could have our first summer signing agreed - at least in principle - soon...

This would be a great start to the summer. I have never been a fan of Traore and don't think he will really be missed. If we can part exchange him for Mensah it will be even better. As long as he comes with waranty of course.

Seems a great deal. Bring it on.

Djimi a great trier without doubt but will never make in Premier League now. He will be far happier in France and Mensah sounds a very good player. Yep Matt I agree 'bring it on'!

Mensah is a very good player and should be a good addition to your team!

mensah is meant to be a great player, but surely there must be a catch if they want to swap him for traore?!?

Got to admit carps, i agree...Y? Mensah for Djimi????? Just what DVD's did we send them?
pentonpompey
Guys, I dont know a thing about Mensah, but it simply must be Djimi + money, surely!!!
pompey4me
its not a swap deal mensah for traore - rennes arent stupid, ok they're stupid enough to want him, but not that stupid... traore will just be a 'sweetner' in the deal.
pompeyrug
Djimi out and some dosh, Mensah in.. bring it on ... Do the deal Harry while it's hot.. Djimi won't cut it at Fratton nowadays whereas Mensah could be immense and it's in a position we need.
Chix
We could get mensah for 3- 4 million with traore this would be a great deal for us as mensah is a really good player.
