'If It's Football, It's Vital'

'Arry plays down Bullard rumours

Although the 'rumours' are saying otherwise Harry Redknapp has played down the suggestion that he could make a move for Jimmy Bullard this summer, telling The News: 'I like Jimmy. I signed him when I was at West Ham for £20,000 from Gravesend & Northfleet.

'He's done fantastic, he really has, and I am pleased for the lad. But there is no truth I want to sign him whatsoever.

'He's a great lad with a fantastic attitude.

'To be honest, he's not one I've even considered'.

Just because Redknapp says this it does not mean that he will not make a move - but it would seem unlikely.

I think Bullard is a fantastic footballer who has recovered well from his injury to be as good as he was before - and that form before his long term injury was seeing him linked with an England call-up - but £5m for a player in his late 20s or maybe even early 30s seems unlikely, even in this day and age?

As I say I like the fella, and I do think he could bring something to our midfield, but even putting aside the fact that the rumours have been played down at the £5m price I would see it being unlikely that any deal could happen...

I don't think there is any truth in this. Jimmy as mentioned has done well to get over his injury and come back into the premiership, but he is not good enough to get into our team. I can see him moving from Fulham to one of the clubs that come up from the fizzy pop league.

Bullard is 29 and has done great at Wigan and again overcoming that awful injury at Fulham but he is not a top half of Premier League player

We are going to get linked with so many as always, but our stock has risen significantly over the last 2 seasons. We can look to get a much higher calibre of player.

He's said that he doesn't want to leave us even if we go down! I don't think he's the kind of guy to go back on his word. I don't agree with eastneydave; I think Bullard would fit into a european chasing team easily!

his free kicks are amazing!

at £5m he would need to be more than a squad player, and tbh i couldnt seeing him dislodging those already here - providing they stay - as 'arry likes his set-up as it is doesnt he...

I don't see Bullard being an improvement over Sean or Pedro...yes he's another 100%er without question, but when you factor in the injury prone status of the player it's just not worth it.

He's never fit in with that comedy barnet anyway!
