Pompey linked with Porto striker

The latest 'link' to a new player as the summer transfer window draws ever closer is one to Porto striker Lisandro Lopez.

According to sky sports the Argentinean's agent Fernando Hidalgo has claimed that 'Portsmouth and Sevilla are battling it out' for his signature - although Porto have said he is not for sale.

Lopez is the top scorer in the Portuguese SuperLiga this season.

If nothing else guys it shows that we are becoming a more and more attractive proposition all the time as even if his agent is merely 'touting' his services then putting Portsmouth's name alongside the likes of Sevilla is not bad is it!

i have lisandro lopez in my fifa 08 team... he is vrey good!! ok, so its a game but the games these days are realistic and mask the players attributes quite well. in real life, other than what rug has mentioned I have no idea what he is like! in the game he is a forward and not a striker... minor detail?

He is a stricker, he can score goal from everywhere. Really really good. I think a lot of Spanish or Italian clubs will be on him this summer. Hard to transfer him to Pompey i think.

He's a very good striker. He would be a good signing for you.

We are going to be linked with strikers around the world because we need one. The jury is out on Baros, although I personally like him.

He works hard Dave, but just dosn't cut it for me, he looked petrified in the Semi. He dosent look like scoring

Jury is still out for me with Baros.. he does work hard and creates a lot of space for Defoe... Why was Defoe not in the game on Saturday ???... No space created by Baros, no quality delivered from Diarra.. anyway it all depends on how much we have to pay for Milan... Lopez (they call him 'Licha') on the other hand looks quality and if we can land him ..he'll be hot I reckon..

Baros doesn't have it for me. He has been given plenty of games compared with Nugent and I would still rather keep the Nugget. I think we should look elsewhere and Lopez looks like a quality striker.

i thin baros and nugent are competing directly against each other. nugent has already signed permanaantly, is younger, english, and tries hard every game, and seems to be improoving with every game. bars is more experianced, an automatic starter for the czech republic, and runs a fair amount too. I personally prefer nugent, as baros' repeated fouls, hand balls, and dives are just winding me up!

altho baros has the past reputation tbh at this point in time if i had to decided 'nugent or baros' i would go nugent as i believe that he has great potential. i do lik baros tho dont get me wrong, but i just do not think that he has - at this point in time - quite done enough to warrant paying a 6m - or thereabouts - transfer fee?
