Redknapp hopeful of keeping Niko

Redknapp hopeful of keeping Niko

Niko Kranjcar has grabbed plenty of headlines for club and country this season and the 'apparent' interest in him is 'said' to be growing and growing - so offers could come in for him this summer?

Even if they do Harry Redknapp has told The News that he hopes he will stay with us as we can offer him as much as most other clubs, a select few aside: 'hopefully we can keep hold of him. He's happy here and we are playing great football.

'The European Championships are coming up and he's got a Cup final to play.

'The club's moving forwards, so everything is here for him. '

Should Kranjcar perform well at Euro 2008 the interest would no doubt grow yet further, but I cannot see why we should not be able to keep hold of him. He is happy, we are happy - simple as. Granted he will want to test himself at the very, very highest level but what is the hurry?

Everyone has a price and if the price is right he 'could' be sold, but hopefully we keep him and as many other of our top players as maintaining continuity will be essential to our continued progress, without this we cannot carry on our moves forward.

Also speaking of Redknapp he has began court actions against the police for his arrest in November. He was furious at the time - and justifiably so as I fully believe he did no wrongdoing at all in that instance - as he believes that cost him the England job, and that is putting aside the way he and his family were treated!

The first hearing takes place early in May. Selfish as it sounds I hope that this does not have any negative impact on the rest of our season and of course the FA cup final, which as we know takes place on May 17th.

Can't see Niko leaving for a top Prem club, his skill levels are high, but lack of pace will count against him

paultsmouth, agreed. I cannot understand "HR"s continued comments about hoping to keep him, its almost like an advertisement to sell him. I think "HR" is making a mistake taking court action against the police at this stage. He should wait until the charges are dropped or at least clarified.

God i hope we keep him, but he needs to lose a couple of pounds as he's looking a little on the "content" side of life!

Hopefully we are becoming the level of club that can keep quality players like Niko, because I can only see him getting better. As for Arry's action against the police, good on him, good luck, I'm suprised it took him this long. The way they went in to his home with press in tow was disgraceful.

yes we need Niko's creativity and goals cos without Defoe we dont carry too much of a threat if any, infact i wish he could take papabouba quashie's shots. 007 i couldnt disagree with you more about the legal case, i think he should do it, how hypocritical fof the CoL police to arrest Haryy on charges when they are clearly corrupt themselves and sold the story to News international inc. It's clearly been eating at Redknapp it was timed to damage him for the england position to the point where he couldnt function, we lost points and nearly left. I have always been a bit cynical about his self publicising but i have a great deal of respect for him fo doing this and wish him success.

Evans - Right back or right midfield?

Drew Talbot and Adam Buxton are fit but Gareth Evans continues to fill in at right back. Should this change? If so where would it leave the battle between Evans and Carl Baker?
