Pompey Chimes: Duo in Team of Week

England duo David James and Sol Campbell earned themselves a place in the Team of the Week in The Actim Index, the official player ratings system of the Barclays Premier League, after guiding Portsmouth to two clean sheets in the space of a week.

James, the top-ranked goalkeeper in the Index, posted 14 points against Newcastle and 19 points against West Ham, while Campbell made seven tackles, three passes and two blocks over the two games to notch up a total of 29 points.

James, one of three Pompey players in the top 50, stayed 22nd in the Index with 452 points while Campbell is 54th with 356 points.

Glen Johnson sits 35th in the Index with 400 points, while fellow defender Sylvain Distin is 50th with 371 points.

Analysis of all Premier League games is taking place throughout the season and the players in the Actim Index Team of the Week are:

Thought of a new song: "Bring on (*) we don't care, cos Jamo makes saves with his hair. " (*) means whatever striker we're facing next, so I spose Benji would go in there this week.

An unexpected visitor

Pompey's Burgess was clearly at a loose end when the game at Crawley was postponed. That much was initially obviously with the level of desire to be involved in footie later revealed.

Cook - no need for a prolific marksman

Cook has said Pompey's lack of a 25 goal striker - I still think we have one - isn't going to impact on our promotion chances. I can see both sides of Cookie's opinion here to be fair.
