Kaboul and Crouch on the menu

Kaboul and Crouch on the menu

The transfer gossip this Sunday is not really serving up anything that new to be honest guys...

We have previously been linked with defender Younes Kaboul - with it suggested we offered Sulley Muntari in a swap deal in January - and with Spurs 'apparently' ready to sell the Frenchman we will make a move again in the summer according to the Mail on Sunday.

Whenever I have seen the fella, which admittedly has not been that often, I have not been that impressed so I am not too sure on this one to tell the truth. Spurs paid £7m for the fella so will be looking to recoup most of that I would have thought, so with that thought in mind I would give this a thumbs down myself. However Harry Redknapp is believed to have been tracking him for some time so who knows what will happen here…

Again the Peter Crouch stories are in the News of the World - with us allegedly leading a 'three way' battle with Newcastle and Villa for the Liverpool man.

I can only add to what I have previously said on this one really. I do think that he will leave Liverpool and do think that there is a very good chance he will return to us in the summer. If we can get him for the now 'reported' £6m I would be even happier to be honest.

My own thinking on these two links today - I would give them a 50% accuracy rating...

You like Spurs rejects dont ya on the south coast! :) No seriously Younes Kaboul has everything to be a top defender and looks great when alongside King, but with Dawson + Robbo behind him hes dodgy as hell, but hes young and is a top prospect and is a big physical lad would fit in well down there if it happened, probably paper talk though.

Crouch I can see happening, Kaboul don't know, he has looked dodgy when I've seen him, but as the yiddo pointed out with either Sol or Distin there to hold his hand may be a good acquisition

I like the idea of either of these...dont want Muntari to go anywhere though!!!!....would still love to see Kenwin Joneslinked up with Defoe though..I think the kids got a great future & would be great with the little man!

jones has gone off the boil abit recently but he still seems to have a decent future ahead of him... i reckon crouchy and defoe would make a fantastic pairing - he'll cost more than £6m tho thats for sure!
im not keen on kaboul, but when you think about it - and going on what has been said above - playing alongside sol or distin could bring the best out of him?

Would'nt be against crouchy coming back....Oh Crouchy Crouchy used to be a scummer but he's all right now! But, we really do need to address the right side of midfield first.

Agreed 4me, the Right side is a thorn for us. finding someone for reasonable money will be the tricky part. Utaka is not the answer, far too lazy, and not really that tricky

Crouch would be a good signing but I think he'd be too expensive. I hear Henry might be available though? :-) We know he likes us and we've got the right Arsenal connections! Or how about getting Benji back on the cheap because he hasn't done much at Citeh.

Crouch has possibities. As for anyone else, have we started the usual A-Z of links already?

i think that we are his 'most attractive' option tbh and reckon that he will return... we wont get him for £6m, but something around £8m - if we have it - would get him.
agree the right sided position must be filled, and has to be a high priority, if we dont get anyone then we have to give franck songo'o a chance as he couldnt do any worse that papa bouba diop and i dare say would give utaka a run for his money on current form!

I think that kaboul would be a good signing for us alongside distin.i think campbell will leave so bring in mensanh for cover,A right sided player is a must as utaka is really pants !!! so maybe arry will bring in d'allesandro or guiterrez. We also need a striker for defoe.

A lot can change in the space of a few weeks, and with fixtures piling up in front of them, Pompey needed to find form if they were to make themselves serious contenders.
