Cup final ticket information

There is no real info on the way FA cup final tickets will be distributed yet, and as the Pompey Site has reported, nothing will be known until after a meeting with the FA next week.

I know we want to just enjoy the moment, and let the thought that we are FA cup finalists sink in - and rightly so - but we must all too be thinking I want to be there...but clearly we will not all be able to - but one thing that we do know, or at least think we know is that we will not have as many tickets available for the final as we did the semi final, 25,000 is the likely figure, so that will be even more interesting and the battle for tickets even more intense.

Season ticket holders should without any shadow of a doubt be going, and getting first crack - and rightly, but how the others will go is anyone's guess... we will all have theories but we should know for sure between next Friday and the Monday following, so that gives us almost a week to enjoy the moment without worrying too much about can I get a ticket...

One problem is the 25,000 includes those tehe club will want for sponsors, players and staff etc. Scummers when they reached the final took 3,000+ out I was told last week.

I really hope we can enjoy the moment before the ticket frenzy starts again.

Season ticket holders who have already bought 08/09 season ticket should get priority. At least there will be enough tickets to cover season ticket holders unlike at the 'bigger' clubs. How ridiculous is it though that there will only 50,000 supporters in a stadium with 90,000+ people.

First we should think about the Cup Final suits, the Final record and learning the words to 'Abide with me'! It is going to be a long siw weeks.
eastneydave
Abide with me, Fast falls the eventide. Whos next up then felas?
pompey4me
Cardiff it is, did they take up their full allocation for the game today? Mind you there were lots of spare seats dotted around yesterday werent there?
Owenspompey
The news are running the story about us in Europe (again) what are our chances of this back up plan if (heaven forbid) we lose the final? I must say Cardiff looked OK today and they have a few experienced stars in the line up. We'll need to perform better than yesterday thats for sure!

holdz, tbh i dont agree - yep i will again be a season ticket holder next season but i dont feel this should, nor will it give me any right to get a ticket for the final - those that have been season ticket holders this season will and should get first crack of the whip without question... 'if' they decide that season ticket holders for 08/09 can get some advantage then i will be happy, but i just cannot see it tbh as some 'probably' will be jumping on the bandwago for next season wont they, so why should they go to wembley this season as a ticket holder for this season?
spot on tho with the 40,000 going to 'others', you can understand some, but 40,000 is just wrong 25,000 tickets for fans of each club in a cup final at a stadium that holders 90,000 is just wrong...
pompeyrug
mark my words - ticketing will be a lottery - so the best of luck to you all!

What ever happens, im glad I was there yesterday. I wont hold my breath for the final, whoever goes, do us proud, dont get outsung by the taffies

by even...tired sorry

i thought that the 25 000 each club got last year was becuase wembly didnt want to fully sell out on its first major day. (or something like that) - and this year, maybe they will open it up to more supporters. pompey alone could probably sell the full 90 000 with ease - so getting tickets will be a nightmare.

holdz, as with Rug don't agree with your comment about next years seasons ticket holders should get priority for tickets. Thats fine for next season, but we are still in the 07/08 season and that is when the final takes place.
blarmy
I am not a season ticket holder, but I agree with blarmy it is this years fans that have driven the team with their support to this stage so they should get first dibs on seeing them finish it off in style.....
Sachas_Brother
I have booked my flights already, with or without a ticket. I just need to be over there to savour the moments. Does anyone know if the club will be open with big screens etc, should I fail in my quest to acquire a ticket at any price ?
