There are still plenty of tickets available for the game with Wigan tomorrow - around 2,500 in fact, which is something that I find disappointing to be honest!
Seats are available all around Fratton Park but the majority are in the Milton End. So far Wigan have sold only 350 of their allocated 1,200.
I know that we have an expensive weekend coming up, and the potential of another even more expensive one in May but I am disappointed that so many seats are available, as lets be honest they were not available when we were playing Birmingham and Villa recently were they - a cynic would think that there was a reason for this…
As I say, I know finances can make this difficult, and next weekend will be expensive but in all honesty it is only season ticket holders and a select band that are going to get final tickets - should we make it - so can 'I am saving for a possible second trip to Wembley' be an excuse?
We have sold our semi final allocation without trouble, so lets prove that we can do this at Fratton Park too. Yep it is expensive but we have to constantly sell out, or near sell out all games - no matter who the opponents or what the rewards on offer are, as if we cannot do this at a 20,000 capacity stadium then how can we expect to do this at a 35,000 capacity one? There are many factors preventing a move, but these statistics will also be used in deciding if we can or cannot get a new stadium one day...
If I still lived in Pompey, or the surrounding areas I would without any shadow of a doubt be at this game, as I would any other game we played, and most likely at any level as I live and breath Pompey so want to soak up as much as I can. As most of you know I live anything but locally, but would still love to be at the game tomorrow but it really is not financially possible at all, nor will work commitments really allow this. I would need to travel by train, and this would cost me the best part of fifty quid minimum so with a ticket price and food and drink I would be looking at well over one hundred quid just for me alone, so as much as I want this my financial state does not allow this at all - as said I know it is expensive for us all, but those locally can discount travel costs. Yep, it will still be expensive, but nowhere near what it would be for those travelling from around the country.
Surely we want to show our support to the boys before they head off to Wembley, and tomorrow seems the ideal time for the reality to finally kick in - if it has not already - that we are off their next weekend! If you did miss out on a ticket for the semi final at least you could try and soak up what I would imagine will be an incredible atmosphere tomorrow?
Well, this is my bit of PR work for Pompey, maybe it will help sell a few more tickets, maybe not? It's just a shame I cannot work on commission for them :-)
