Same England...usual Ticketmaster

Same England...usual Ticketmaster

It may be a new man in charge but yet again I came away after 90 minutes of so called 'entertainment' anything but entertained after England lost to a decent French team 1-0 in Paris… I again remembered why I do not really enjoy watching England anymore, and have not for some time…

The plus points were that I got to see not 1, but 2 Pompey players pull on the three lions, which was a bonus.

David James started, and whilst I hope he is not made the 'scapegoat' for defeat as it was he that conceded the penalty from which the French won, I was surprised that he did not leap at Nicolas Anelka's feet to try and get the ball instead of basically misjudging and waiting for it, but there you go.

I still cannot quite understand why Wes Brown continues to be in the squad, let alone starting 11 as he looked, lets say uncomfortable... I was glad to see Glen Johnson eventually get on, as his form this season has deserved this. Hopefully he will start our next game, which I think is against the US of A?

All in all a night to forget, at least it made me tired so I was able to get to sleep quite easily ready for battle with Ticketmaster - not for my benefit, to have hopefully benefit 2 others! - this morning at stupid o'clock… another battle lost! What a joke that was, according to the online Ticketmaster service my 'client reference number' was not on their database! Not on their database, why not? It is good to see that all my years of support to Pompey see me recorded with such great pride eh! As for the phone lines, your havin' a giraffe…

So like the other phases before phase 4 has sold out! A little over 1,100 tickets will be available from the ticket office next week on a 'first come first served' basis, but that will then be your lot fellas!

Anyway, at least we got to see James and Johnson both play for England last night, lets just hope that they, and all our other internationals come back unscathed and the next time they play at a national stadium they will have more success!

I've just seen the back pages and of course they're making Jamo the scapegoat. I thought it was poor defending, letting Anelka through on goal like that - what was he supposed to do - stand aside and let him score? This happens 2 or 3 times a season that Jamo concedes a penalty in this kind of circumstance, and it doesn't detract from the excellent keeper he is. These journalists, and a lot of people around the country are just out to get him for the slightest thing. I hope Capello sees it with a bit more perspective. If they want a goalkeeper who never makes any mistake then they're not going to find one, we need to stick with this one who makes very few and lots of outstanding saves. I thought Johnson had a good 20 minutes, whereas Wes Brown was dire, and Beckham was excellent. England never looked like scoring, which underlines that Defoe should have played.

That's just harsh rug though you have a ticket so it could have been worse? Tracyc Wes Brown is always terrible and I don't understand why he makes the squad let alone the team. England need some more time together which we have due to the lack of the Euro's but the score was not as bad as it could of been so lets just hope we get better.

plenty of hard luck stories isnt there, but in all honesty as said in a later article for every winner there must be a losser... it most certainly could've been worse, so i am grateful that i do have a ticket.

I think England were they're usual lacklustre self. Jamo was unlucky. I doubt if many keepers would have got away with it. If the fickle press want a scape goat, they'll get one. The reality is that the nobody came out of it with much glory.

England were really poor, it seems that Capello has not changed much has he? I cant understand Rooney being on his own up front, that is a strange decision. Beckham, great player, but his day is done and we have to accept he is not good enough anymore, and as for Wes Brown he is not even the best right back at United.
