'If It's Football, It's Vital'

Teams - Spurs v Pompey

This is the Spurs line up:

Paul Robinson
Alan Hutton
Michael Dawson
Jonathan Woodgate
Pascal Chimbonda
Aaron Lennon
Didier Zokora
Tom Huddlestone
Steed Malbranque
Robbie Keane
Dimitar Berbatov

Radek Cerny
Younes Kaboul

Harry Redknapp was forced into several changes as Sulley Muntari and Papa Bouba Diop were both suspended and Jermain Defoe was ineligible. Lauren missed out through illness and Lassana Diarra picked up a slight knock in training, whereas Milan Baros dropped to the bench.

In came Lucien Aubey, Richard Hughes, Pedro Mendes, Sean Davis, John Utaka and Kanu with Dave Nugent returning to the bench after injury being joined by youngster Marc Wilson, who featured on the bench against Sunderland earlier in the season.

So we line up like this:

David James
Glen Johnson
Hermann Hreidarsson
Sylvain Distin
Lucien Aubey
Sean Davis
Pedro Mendes
Richard Hughes
John Utaka
Niko Kranjcar

Jamie Ashdown
Marc Wilson
Arnold Mvuemba
Milan Baros
Dave Nugent

interesting selection - some, well most couldnt be helped... still reckon 3-2 win :-)
daves back
yep and he almost scored a cracker didnt he...
meant nuge lol
ah, so you did i see you said 'dave' now not davis... nuge might get a bit of time in the 2nd half?
lol, hope so, i dont think kanu will last, bt i think milan wil be first option
im gld tht diarra and sulley arent playin, doesnt let ramos hav a look at them :)
diarra wouldnt leave us for spurs anyway would he... i reckon kanu will get 10-15mins in the 2nd hald then baros will be on. it would be good to see nuge get some time.
0-0 half time I'll take that now - lads doing ok though ..
Well the 2nd string are hanging in there. The longer it satys goalless the better. Utaka is having another mare. Hopefully thet'll take him off at HT & bring on either Arnold or Milan. I'll settle for a draw now, we are not full of goals & keeping them quiet will be a success in itself.
if we can hold them to 0-0 for another 15-20 minutes i reckon we could sneak it, not sure about my 3-2 now tho! i have baros down as the 1st scorer in a 3-2 win - i'll be quids in if it happens so i hope he's on soon...
What has Harry filled Utaka with in this second half? Much improved. First half I nearly knocked the tele over he frustrated me so much.
yep he's certainly improved in this half, think its time for baros to come on for kanu tho.
Like most of you, I'm watching this thinking 0-0 will be a good result. We've kept Keane & Barbie quiet. What is it about subs. A carbon of the Everton game. To be fair with so many out it was always going to be tough. Off to be a Coventry supporter for the afternoon!!!
Going back to thewhizz, Utaka was not in the number 17 shirt in the first half - second period he played as well as he has for ages.
You are being sarcastic about Utaka, right Dave ? !?! He had the pace of a glacier all afternoon or so it seemed to me. What on earth happened to this kid ? He had seemed so promising in the early season.
utaka was certainly better in the 2nd half, but he was still not the player that he looked like being earlier in the season or should even be considering what we paid for him... at this point in time i wouldnt be overly upset if he went in the summer, that said some players take longer to adjust to the premier league than others, maybe he is one of the others?
Utaka.. heavy grounds slow players with pace down.. all Utaka has got in his locker is pace and the ability to round a keeper and that's hardly gonna happen if he always plays on the right wing..
