You cannot fleece the system

You cannot fleece the system

It has been revealed by the club that anyone trying to go against the system in place for phase one semi final tickets - or any other phase for that matter for the semi final - will not get away with it, and the consequences of trying this will 'apparently' result in you being blacklisted from getting a final ticket… should we get there of course.

There had been whisperings over the past few days that people had been able to order more than the stipulated maximum 1 ticket per season ticket holder/member allowance in phase one, with even more whisperings that some had phoned up several times to get more and more… although this might have worked at the time, it will not work when it comes to getting the tickets and the repercussions could be even more serious.

There have been some problems with Ticketmaster and as far as I understand the system had crashed with some details being lost, so those that have accidentally booked an extra ticket have my every sympathy and I am sure this will be taken into account, but to be honest, and straight to the point those willingly trying to dupe the system - which granted is easy to do as there is no automatic block on the number you can order, when there should be - will be punished, and harsh but true in my opinion, I say rightly so!

I think that we were all in agreement that basically the system that has been put in place was the fairest one, people knew that they were only entitled to a maximum of 1 ticket each this time round so those willingly trying to flaunt the system - which lets be honest some would have done for their own financial gain, obviously some would have done so to try and help others though - will not get away with it.

Those that have done this will only receive the permitted 1 ticket, with the club saying a refund on any others purchased will be given but should we make the final these people will 'apparently' not be there as a result…

This is what Gary Double told The News: 'it's one ticket per season ticket holder. People will get a full refund and then they will be blacklisted for the final'.

Whilst the possible punishment of missing the final - should we make it - is arguably extreme, as in many ways with the loophole that the Ticketmaster system had this left the opportunity for people to do this, on the other hand, as said the guidelines where in place so no one made them, as much as it should not have been possible to do so anyway. My thinking is people knew the score on what they could and could not order. Obviously, as also said, some might have done this to help out others, but some would have clearly done so for their own gain, and we have already seen what appears to be this on some auction sites already…

Phase two, in which season ticket holders and members can phone again and then order more tickets, with a maximum of 2 per season ticket holder/member kicks in on Monday morning at 6am. So those worried about the consequences of getting more in this phase should not do so, as phase one closes at midnight on Saturday, so no mistakes - at least you would hope not - can be had there as phase two does not kick in until 6am on Monday morning.

I applaud this anonymous person who spoke to The News - who is not me I might add - for raising this matter to be honest. To see the full article from The News click here

These seems a bit harsh as you can't blame people for having a go - especially if the system appears to let them. And there was the fiasco with some people who booked tickets not really getting them. I hope it doesn't apply to phase 3, because I sent in my ManU stubs and Villa stubs.

There are always a few who prepared to push the boundaries of decency. Bring back hanging, they won't do it twice.

those that have accidently done this in phase 1- phoning again as they were concerned the tickets didnt go through i do have sympathy for, and im sure this will be taken into account, but those that blatantly phoned over and over booking excessive amount i do not, a ban of the final is somewhat harsh but people knew the rules...
im not sure what the policy will be on the postal applications with ticket stubs tracy, but with the window of oppotunity narrowed in a postal ballot is it really the same thing as the phase 1 scenario? is hedging your bets - which is what is done here by posting both lots - really the same as the phoneline application blatant breach - even if the door was left open with the system - which basically covered everyone that should get them in those instances - phase 1 i mean... its tough not to be accused of 'double standards' isnt it... its becoming more confusing now, but getting clarification seems even harder...

I think this is a scare tactic more than anything because I'm not sure anyone could be banned. Is that legal? It's not a competition of sorts to get a ticket!

easiest thing to do would be just to say 'you get the 1 ticket and 1 only you should have, you shouldnt have done what you done but youve not got extra tickets anyway so to a degree no harm no foul'... those that have got more and more tickets for their own attempted benefit tho are the lowest of the low, im sorry but they are...

as rug will verify we were talking late last night because i had spoken to a TM oporator on the other No and found i could possible book another tkt on dads S/Tkt No, but felt this was wrong despite the temptation to do so, We discussed this and were in agreement that the system set in place was a fare one and it would be highly hypocritical to to this, i was also aware that this may have had severe consequences for the old boys tkt. It Pays to do things the right way sometimes. I am glad an amnesty has been offered by the club and TM to cancel double bookings.

Evans - Right back or right midfield?

Drew Talbot and Adam Buxton are fit but Gareth Evans continues to fill in at right back. Should this change? If so where would it leave the battle between Evans and Carl Baker?
