'If It's Football, It's Vital'

You learn something new everyday...

They say you 'learn something new everyday' and if what I have just found out is indeed true then I certainly have done so today…

In a season that has seen Pompey re-write the record books time after time, apparently Jermain Defoe is on course to write his name into the Pompey record books for the first time!

Should he score against Wigan at Fratton Park the weekend after next he would apparently become the first player in our long 100 year plus history to score in each of his first 5 league outings at home! So far at home he has scored against Chelski - on his debut, Sunderland, Birmingham and Aston Villa.

Defoe is currently jointly sharing a record with 80s icon Alan Biley, who also managed to score in each of his first 4 Fratton outings after signing from Everton.

There you go, some may say strange, but apparently true… hopefully he can go on and achieve this landmark, which will all being well be the first of many records that he achieves for us.

More power to him, it's blatantly obvious he's the link we've been missing since the Yak left (and I would argue that he will in fact score more).

Can those in the art dept do a pic of Defoe with Biley's hair?
storagematt
OK I admit it, Arry was right again - he is a better goal scorer than Benji. Following in the footsteps of the legendary Alan Biley huh? I like the idea of the pic Matt, can anybody do that?
