Bring on the Albion

Bring on the Albion

Wembley, Wembley, we're the famous Portsmouth City and we're off to Wembley… and we now know who our semi final opponents - yep semi final! - will be.

Standing between us and an FA cup final appearance, and a return to Wembley a month later are West Brom. Obviously Barnsley face Cardiff in the other semi.

If anyone tells you that we have it easy to win the cup they are a fool, we are not guaranteed of anything, and taking it for granted would see us lose… but of course we will probably never, ever have a better chance than this again to win the greatest cup competition in the world - we must take this now, and as I keep saying 'our name is on the cup this season', so I am not changing my mind now.

I will be going to Wembley, unless the gods conspire against me in the cruellest of possible twists of fates looking - not expecting - to be making this journey again a month or so later!

Saturday 5th, or Sunday 6th April 2008 are the dates for the diary fellas, those that can make it, and deserve to go will be desperate to get there, I just hope those that are able to make it and truly deserve to make it do get the tickets to share in this unbelievable experience.

Some muppet said the FA cup 'died' over the weekend, but tell that to the fans off all the teams left in the cup who will be clambering for tickets for these semi finals, I can almost guarantee that we would be able to easily sell our allocation twice over, as said though I just pray that those who truly deserve the tickets get them…

I am on record from before the 6th round draw saying that I wanted to avoid WBA, but we shouldn't worry too much, WBA are best at home and we are best away... and the semi is after all an away match.

Hardest draw you could of had, you should cruise to the cup from here, teams like cardiff and barnsley can't reapeat performances all the way. If you don't win the cup from here, you'll never win it!
10/03/2008 13:40:00
in all honesty i would have rather avoided west brom but we can do them - we shouldnt fear anyone should we...
10/03/2008 13:41:00
we have no one to fear but ourselves..if we are up for it then no one can touch us it all depends on what pompey team turns up and if harry can motivate them..the likes of Utaka and Kanu take note!!

Guys, as long as the team remain focussed, there is no need to panic. We can beat west brom, but this should never be taken for granted, it's all about siezing the moment, Destiny in our own hands. Is teh semi do or die on one day now, or does it still go to replays?
10/03/2008 13:49:00
PFB, Kanu didnt need motivating Saturday, he was as good as i've seen him in a pompey shirt. More of the same please Mr Kanu.

Didnt want ManUtd and beat them, didn't want WBA but will beat them. Pompey V Cardiff final.
10/03/2008 13:54:00
Only team I did not want was Barnsley bizarrely! Come on the mighty Pompey!
10/03/2008 14:05:00
P4me..trouble is getting that regularly.. play 451 as we do best and bully them out of it in the middle of the park.. and how crucial could nugent be now hes stayed? hes a proven scorer against this sort of opposition

Anyone that makes the last 4 does so by merit, anyone can win on the day, if we play to our potential we will win. If we play to our potential in the final we will win. It is as simple as that.
