Time for talking stops

Time for talking stops

Players, manager and coaches have been saying that 'we can' go to Old Trafford and win on Saturday… lets not beat about the bush we have a mammoth task ahead of us to do this but if we go there accepting defeat before the game we might as well not go - in a one off game you never know, as I keep saying I have the faith enough to make the long, long journey in the belief that we can.

We have been poor for sometime, the form leading up to this cup tie would not have filled too many with much belief, the fact that we were picked apart by a 'better team' last weekend showed we cannot get away with the sloppiness, poor performances and lopsided set up against the better teams, the same again against United and we will be ripped to shreds!

Last weekend was the biggest game of our season to date… we failed - now we face another, will we fail again or can we do what we know we are capable of doing?

After a week of reflection, soul searching and hopefully hard work on the training ground some much needed changes - not wholesale mind - will be made, to be honest if they are not then we are screwed! After all this the hope, dare I even say expectation is - is that too much for us to ask? - players that are capable of delivering will do so and will show the hunger that many have lacked recently and we can do it…

This game starts a week that will decide our season, 'if' we lose to United our season is not over - so long as we put in a performance I could accept this and feel we could kick on from this and take maximum points from Birmingham and then Villa following.

A week Sunday our season will either be in taters or in full flow, I am hoping it will be the latter! Either way, we start this against United; all connected to the club have all talked a good talk, now lets see if they can indeed walk the walk…

I think you have a good chance of going to OT and threatening to upset a couple of thousand United fans outside William Hill betting stores across the UK. Being realistic, I doubt you can beat them at Old Trafford. But a draw is possible.

doubt we can win, and a draw would be a great result. loosing by one goal would be agonisng, loosing by more would be embarising.

Well you guys aren't playing at your best but it's a big occasion - the players will know that this is their chance to turn the season around.

Lads, ther pompey4me family are here safe and sound, staying in the premier inn in the shadow of the ground!! I know you all would have been worried about us, so I thought I'd let you know we arrived! Lovely hotel, would recommend. Heres hoping for the right result tomorrow. Am wearing my Pompey top loud and proud in the hotel, have been chatting to loads of Utd fans, strangely tho, none of them have a manchester accent! lol.

4me give a PUP for me. Went to OT in 1970 for League Cup they had Charlton, Best etc we were cr*p but only lost 1-0 to a Charlton special. Great memories but if we play like we can who knows.

Everything crossed for tomorrow but I'm still livid with how cruel the draw has been. AT 41 going on 61, I have dreamt of Pompey at Wembley for 30+ years. We were robbed of this by Liverpool in the 92 semi & Leicester in the play offs a year later. I thought this year we would get there. Yes we have a chance, but I have a chance twice a week in the lottery & guess what? I am a tortured soul.

Hartlepool (a) - Safety first!

A win at Wimbledon made sure of a play-offs place. Technically we can finish in the top 3 but this would require an unlikely set of results from too many clubs wouldn't it?
