'If It's Football, It's Vital'

Teams - Everton v Pompey

This is the Everton line up:

Tim Howard
Tony Hibbert
Joseph Yobo
Phil Jagielka
Joleon Lescott
Leon Osman
Phil Neville
Lee Carsley
Steven Pienaar
Tim Cahill
Yakubu

Substitutes
Stefan Wessels
Leighton Baines

Only one change was made from the victory over Sunderland last weekend, Milan Baros dropped to the bench in place of Kanu - who made such an impact when he came on in that game.

So we line up like this:

David James
Glen Johnson
Sol Campbell
Sylvain Distin
Hermann Hreidarsson
Sulley Muntari
Papa Bouba Diop
Lassana Diarra
Niko Kranjcar
Jermain Defoe
Kanu

Substitutes
Jamie Ashdown
Lauren
Milan Baros
John Utaka
Sean Davis

For those of you not at the game, if you are listening on the radio - or however you are keeping up with events - why not make a few comments below as the game unfolds so we can share our thoughts...

Great to see 'arry's interview saying Defoe not an up front on his own type, it will be interesting to see the Big man with the Little one from the start. Not gonna be a lot of width today. Diop on the right of the diamond midfield.

I tell you what has p*ssed me off today. Our tactics made the Yak look better than JD which is not the case. How the truck can HR open ack before the match that JD's arrival has caused us formation problems? Jesus Christ, it's not as though HR inherrited the friggin team from Perrin now is it? Same story when half the team went on a summer holiday to Ghana. Frattonaussie reckons HR has a twin brother - well today it must have been his 12 year old nephew that picked the team. Very poor. Our defining game of the season and we made Everton look 'big 4' with us mid table... oh sorry, I just checked and that's how the league looks tonight.

Yes Chris, I love 'arry, but find it impossible to defend much of what you say above. Bluto, didnt I used to see your name as a journo on the site?

We had to score when we were on top after half time that is what cost us the game. Nuff said I think.

How to play Diarra, Muntari & Diop? I can't see why Arnold Mmwambaiwamabi (can't spell) but you know, play right side. He look good against Man U & Chelsea. It will settle down soon, we shouldn't crucify them. Clubs like scum, Charlton, Fulham all got carried away with the hype & wanted more. Look where they are now?

Simply CANNOT be worse than playing Diop out there. Yep, give Arnie a go then.

So EvertonMike wasn't far off with his prediction (3-0) afterall everton looked a good team and for large parts of the game bossed the midfield whereas we couldn't get the ball to Defoe... The johnson subsitution was an inspired piece of work by Moyes and what ultimately won them the game ...Thought Yak took his goals well and seems to be in a rich vein of form at the mo .. hope he keeps it up for them and they go on to grab 4th just to break the monopoly

with all respects to EvertonMike, 3-0 was an unrealistic a scoreline as City beating United a few weeks back. I don't buy HR's the game was a lot closer than the scoreline suggests, but on the other hand I don't see Everton as 9 points better than PFC or for that matter the best team in league behind the current top 3. What I will concede is that Moyes is currently doing a better job than HR and I feel sorry for our players when they are left as exposed as they were by a mixture of transfer folly and consequentially innapropriate formation.
