Harry says James is going nowhere

Harry says James is going nowhere

Harry Redknapp has spoken out against the Sunday 'reports' that were 'linking' David James with a summer move to Spurs, also rubbishing the thoughts that he would be out of contract this summer when speaking to sky sports: 'I saw something about him going to Spurs in the summer, as he is out of contract.

'I don't know where that one has come from. He only signed a new contract with us last year and he will be with us for a long time yet'.

With Pompey you cannot help be a little cynical a times as what is said and what really happens can be different things but I think it is safe to say that we know it really would be ludicrous for us to lose James anytime soon, so this news will not only please each and every Pompey fan, it should also please Spurs fans as the vast majority did not want him anyway... there is no accounting for taste is there :-)

Redknapp went on to also once again back James to be England's no.1 up to and including the 2010 world cup finals: 'there's no reason why he can't make the World Cup in 2010 because he will play on for a long time yet.

'He's such a perfectionist and is a great trainer. He is absolutely dedicated and he is in such great condition'.

The plaudits just keep growing for James don't they - and rightly so.

Pompey's, England's, the premier leagues and according to Jamie Redknapp quite possibly the worlds best at this point in time is a far cry from his 'calamity James' tag isn't it - even though some are still blinkered to this view sadly...

Of course there'll be interest in him - he's fantastic! But he's going nowhere (except the world cup finals).

Fantastic news we have already got him another contract, phew. Desperately trying to ignore the first comment here.

well you can desperately try to ignore it butt it's my opinion P4M. I am saying that Hollwood Robinson is s h 1 t but so is James.. so no deliberate attempt to wind anyone up - even if James is better than Hollywood it's like saying a Daihatsu is better than a Robin Reliant.. Big Deal.

Football is all about opinions but Tailor, you're basing your opinion of James on the rare blunder of years ago, not current and recent form. Even the great Gordon Banks made the odd mistake, as did Bonnetti, Stepney, Jennings, Wilson, Zoff, Schmeichal, Shilton, Seaman, Southall etc etc....it comes with the territory. There simply isn't a better keeper in the Premier League at the moment. Oh, and the Spurs talk? Another case of crap Sunday papers and lazy journalists who can't report the news so try and make it up instead....t055ers!

What do we hope for from the rest of the season?

There seems to be a lot of unhappiness around, despite a pretty decent season in my opinion. Well, certainly our best season in a long while.

Debut delight...kind of!

It wasn't a result, and in many ways a performance, for Sheff United loanee Freeman to remember too fondly as he didn't really have a great game against Orient? Then again who did!
