Time for optimism?

Time for optimism?

I put this to our resident Statto EastneyDave, and we came up with the following:

Paul - info for period since we last played in Old Division One

Stats Table

Read in to this what you will, but we seem to average a point a game in the festive period, winning far less than we win.

This season was just par for the course, our best year was back in 95/96, and what did we achieve then?

Even our promotion year of 2002/03 we only won the once, that was at Palace with Christmas specialist Primus babbing the winner.

Fear not Pompey fans, the months have passed and it is time to kick on to a more glorious era!

Nice one Paul. I must admit I had forgotten I had done those stats for you. But hey I am glad it is February now.

yep, december and january are almost always poor for us anret they - as this shows... we now have all the big guns back, have all 'the big guns' out of the way in terms of having to play them again so let the good times roll :-)

So when they ask for a winters break, what do we say; 'Yes, how about December & January?' That would sort the problem!
