Diarra 'the new darling of Fratton'

Diarra 'the new darling of Fratton'

Lassana Diarra has taken Benjani's mantle of being 'the darling of Fratton Park!' Not my vote, yours - although these findings from Chix's poll are thoughts that I do agree with.

Since his signing Diarra has become a huge favourite with the Fratton faithful with literally everyone have plenty of positive words for the fella and everyone being impressed beyond belief at his ability.

Should Jermain Defoe find the net regularly - as I suspect he will - then he is going to rank right up their with Diarra, who might not be here for long anyway?

What the poll asked - With Benjani now gone, who will become the new darling of Fratton Park...

How you voted - Diarra 33%, Defoe 26%, Kranjcar 12%, The girl in row EE 12%, Eastneydave 7%, Muntari 4%, Baros 1%, Johnson 1%, Diop 1%, Nugent 1%, Kanu 1%, The bloke on the tannoy 1%, The Pompey Sailor 0%, Pompey4me 0%

Current Poll - It is almost FA cup time again!

Preston stand between us and a Quarter Final place in the FA cup, can we overcome them or will the cup dream die - this is what pompeyrug wants to know with this - 'FA cup - Preston v Pompey?' Let the poll do the talking before we do when it finishes.

I'm surprised the girl in row EE didn''t get more votes .... You wanna see her.. Wooden leg, glass eye, buck teeth, bottle bottom glasses, fashion straight out of the seventies... Beautiful

Apologies of course to anybody with a wooden leg or a glass eye or buck teeth or bottle bottom glasses, or fashion straight out of the seventies...

Diarra is a quality player, no doubt, but I would hesitate to embrace him as a crowd favourite. He looks at Pompey as a stepping stone, and actually said as soon as he joined. As an Arsenal fan, I was obviously annoyed by his attitude (not coz he chose to leave, but the comments he made and his attitude in general).

Chix, I thinkthe girl in row EE was doomed after rug admitted it wasn't him in drag. Had he said it was him I think he/she would have romped in.

Chix, you shouldn't talk about your girlfriend like that.

abit harsh on johnny westwood there... i think that diarra would sell himself 100% to the pompey faithful if he stayed with us next season - if he did this then i think his place in pompey's history will be cemented wont it?

To go in a "bigger" club and to prove Arsenal and Chelsea were wrong to left him go without gave him really the opportunity to play, he will (like Rug said) gime himself 100%, for sure, he've always done that with the French National team, and it is the better way for him to become a Big player. (A lot of chelsea fans regret him, now that Makelele risk to retire soon....)

Whereever he leaves you for in the summer, you'll at least make a tidy profit

Match highlights - Pompey 0-1 Orient

Disappointing as it was, you take the rough with the smooth and cannot gloss over things when they aren't so good so here goes with the 1-0 defeat Pompey suffered against Orient.

Simply not good enough!

Call me a moaner, call me a groaner but if you think the performance against Orient was good enough then I think you're wearing blue tinted specs as that was poor from Pompey.
